Eurovision Song Contest Logo
Client: EBU (European Broadcasting Union)
24th January 2004
JME were invited to an eight way pitch with top design agencies across Europe for this prestigious project. The versatile identity we created won through and has been chosen to represent Eurovision. The new permanent logo and brand identity of the Eurovision Song Contest was officially unveiled at a ceremony broadcast on Turkish Television The Eurovision Song Contest, which has a rich tradition and heritage, attracts and entertains over 100 million Europeans each year. In past years, a new logo and new design concept have been developed for each edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. The value of the huge promotion for each logo, was effectively lost every year, as the logo was discarded at the end of each show. It was decided to develop a permanent logo, it is envisaged that the logo will become more recognisable and over time, and come to symbolise what has become a unique European institution. -
