Michael Parkinson, the legendary broadcaster, king of the chat-show and star-maker, was honoured this evening with the prestigious Music Industry Trusts’ Award in association with Accenture. The charity gala dinner, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, was attended by over 1000 guests from the UK music industry and entertainment industry, to pay tribute to the master communicator.

Jazz chanteuse, Clare Teal, whom Michael Parkinson’s early support was instrumental in her signing her first major recording contract, gave a spectacular performance in his honour.

Rod Stewart, a lifelong friend and one of Michael’s favourite performing artists, presented him with the prestigious award.
